How to Set Wallpaper on iPhone Duo
Download an original iPhone Duo wallpaper, save it to Photos, and set it on both displays. No app, no account — every file is a standard PNG or JPG you can crop and re-crop.
Before you start
Each iPhone Duo wallpaper is one artwork delivered as two files: a portrait Cover image for the outer screen and a landscape Inner image for the open display. The light wallpaper is PNG; the dark wallpaper is JPG. You can download them individually or as a single ZIP from the download page.
Step by step
1. Download the original file
Open the wallpaper you want and use the download link under the Cover or Inner preview, for example “Download PNG · 1398×2034”. The light wallpaper is PNG and the dark wallpaper is JPG. To grab both displays at once, use “Download both as ZIP”.
2. Save it to Photos
On iPhone, long-press the downloaded image and choose Add to Photos, or open the share sheet and pick Save Image. If you downloaded a ZIP, open it in the Files app and save the images from there.
3. Set the cover screen
Open Settings, tap Wallpaper, then Add New Wallpaper, and choose Photos. Select the portrait Cover image (1398 × 2034), pinch to frame it, and confirm.
4. Set the inner display
Repeat with the landscape Inner image (2670 × 1878) for the open display. Whether your iOS version lets you assign both screens in one flow depends on the device, so set each display the same way if you only see one option.
5. Check the crop and keep the original
Preview the result on the lock screen and home screen. Keep the original PNG or JPG in Photos or Files so you can re-crop later without downloading again.
Cover and inner, in short
- Cover — portrait, 1398 × 2034 px. Use it for the outer cover screen.
- Inner — landscape, 2670 × 1878 px. Use it for the open inner display.
Both labels describe the supplied assets. Device-specific controls for assigning a different image to each display need to be checked against the released device and its iOS version.
Common mistakes
- Setting the on-page preview instead of the original file — previews are capped at 1600 px and soften when cropped.
- Cropping the landscape Inner image onto a portrait screen, which trims the edges. Switch to the Cover file for tall screens.
- Saving the ZIP straight to Photos. Photos cannot open a ZIP — unzip it in Files first.
- Setting only one display. Use the matching Cover and Inner files together so the light or dark look stays consistent.
Other devices
On an older iPhone or Android phone, start with the portrait Cover image. For an iPad or wider screen, try the Inner image. Preview the crop before applying it; different screen ratios can trim the edges. Keep the original file so you can readjust later. You can also check the original resolutions or try a live wallpaper loop.
Questions
Do I need an app to set these wallpapers?
No. Every file is a standard PNG or JPG image. You download it and set it through the iPhone wallpaper picker, with no app, coins, or sign-up.
What is the difference between the Cover and Inner files?
Cover is the portrait image (1398 × 2034) for the outer cover screen. Inner is the landscape image (2670 × 1878) for the open inner display. Each wallpaper ships both files.
Why do the previews look smaller than the download?
The previews on the site are WebP files capped at 1600 pixels on the long edge for faster loading. The download keeps the full-resolution original, so always download before setting it.
Can I use these on a non-folding iPhone, an iPad, or Android?
Yes. Start with the portrait Cover image on a normal phone, or the wider Inner image on a tablet. Preview the crop first, because different screen ratios trim the edges.
